I want what You want. I think what You think. And I do what You tell me to do.

What are you chasing today?
That’s the question I’ve been asking myself daily. Because if my answer is anything but Jesus, my priorities are wrong.
I know what you’re thinking, “You can’t only chase Jesus. You have to focus on other stuff too.” I get it. That was my thought too, at first. But the truth is, you don’t. You don’t have to chase anything but Jesus. You don’t have to chase a relationship. You don’t have to chase a dream. You don’t have to chase money, happiness, provision, or a career. None of it.
I have proof.
“ If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:30-33(NIV)
Seek Him, first and everything else will be given to you. Just given. No chasing required.
I found that all the things I had been chasing were wearing me out. I was tired of running after things that were running away from me. I was exhausted of the “hustle” we for some reason think is necessary. So I stood still and this is where Jesus met with me.
I want to challenge you to begin waking up 30-60 minutes early every morning to have a scheduled meeting with God. A portion of your time that is just for Him. Not the kids, not your spouse, not your job, not yourself. Dedicated time to sit at the feet, and in the presence of God.
In my time with God like this, a small, yet deep, prayer has formed:
“I want what You want. I think what You think. And I do what You tell me to do.”
That’s it. That’s what I’m chasing. His will. His ways. His plans and purposes.
I believe that if we can find true and genuine God-given purpose for living on Earth, nothing can stop us. If I’m doing what God asked of me, who could stop me?
“…If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31(NIV)
I want to be living on purpose, and daily focusing on what God asks of me. Taking it all one day at a time. Maybe today all He asks of me is to spend time in His Word. And maybe tomorrow He asks me to pray for someone. Maybe one day He asks me to do something that stretches my comfort zone. Maybe one day He asks me to do something down right scary. But if it’s His will- I want it. If it’s His voice- I follow it. If it’s my purpose for breathing that day, I don’t want to waste it.
We spend our lives chasing pleasure and comfort. But we were created to follow purpose and calling.

We spend so much time chasing entertainment, and things that make us feel good. We are consumed and held prisoner by the boundaries of convenience, and enjoyment that we often ignore the callings and opportunities that lie right outside the lines of “comfortable.”
Waking up early isn’t comfortable. But the more I spend time with God, the more I can recognize His voice. Telling someone about Jesus isn’t easy, but the more you begin to obey the leadings of Jesus, the less afraid of sharing your faith you become. Turning off the television when the content on it doesn’t line up with the Word isn’t entertaining, but the more we block out sin, the more we find ourselves consumed in the righteousness of Christ.
What I’m saying is- there’s so much more to life than this. There’s so much more to salvation than just not going to Hell.
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” John 10:10(AMP)
Life in abundance.
There is joy in Jesus. There is enjoyment like the world can’t give. There is a fullness that comes from walking out the will of God for your life. It is worth it.
So let’s stop chasing the things of this world that pass- and start chasing the will of the Father. He is good. He can be trusted.
God had you perfectly planned out from the beginning of time to perform the task He has called you to. You were born on purpose. Live like it.
Be blessed!
