“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory and majesty of His Father with His angels, and then He will repay each one in accordance with what he has done.”
Matthew 16:26-27(AMP)
Eternity-minded. It’s a simple concept, really. The time we have here on Earth, the lifespan of a human being, in the perspective of eternity, is unbelievably short. Yet, what we choose to do in this tiny amount of time here on Earth has a lot to do with how our eternities will look.
Throughout the Bible there are mentions of rewards that Christians will receive in Heaven based on the way they lived on Earth. And that is so encouraging to know that all the effort is not for nothing. But those rewards aren’t the reason we as believers should be serving God here in this small time we have now.
The way you choose to live your life matters. It does whether you realize it or not. Because everyone on this Earth has a calling. A design, just for you, that God set up to accomplish things that will effect other peoples eternities. That seems like a big deal, right? Well it is! No, I’m not saying you have to do it perfectly, because no one will. But we should be doing it.
Life is about more than doing what feels the best, what’s most comfortable, what’s easiest, or what’s most fun. While there will be some of that along the way, it’s important to take the life you’ve been given and make it matter in eternal proportions .
It’s easy to caught up in the day to day routine and forget that we are on assignment here on the Earth. But for every person you help, love, lend to, forgive, heal, encourage, and witness to you are making eternal strides for the Kingdom! Don’t forget that. The way we treat people- it matters. In fact, I would say it’s one of the most important matters. That why the Bible says, “Above all, love each other deeply….” 1 Peter 4:8.
Salvation is crucial. Because eternity is a long time. Remember that the way you live your life has effect on not only your eternity, but also the people around you. Take this life, and make it matter.
Be Blessed!
