Laced with Grace

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Deuteronomy 31:8(NIV)

I was desperate for a revelation. I had been praying about a particular decision coming up and was pulling on Heaven for a response. I had been doing my best to get some alone time with the Lord (which is not easy with an eight month old baby). But every time I opened my Bible I flipped to 2 Chronicles 3 – 6. I even grabbed a different notebook to write in and the only other devotion written in it was from a year ago and of course the scripture referenced in it was ole’ trusty 2 Chronicles 5.

It describes the temple that Solomon built. Which sounds beautiful but I had no idea what it had to do with me. After eight days of frustrating devotion time I sat down and said, “God, I’m going to read this page until You tell me why I’m reading it!”

In the Amplified Bible it has other scriptures that relate to the verse in brackets so I even went through and read those verses. Then I understood, all of sudden God gave me the word I was looking for right in the middle of the same page I had read all week long.

See, before Solomon built the temple David, his father, had made preparations for it all. He had gathered all the materials. He hired all the workers. He had blueprints made so that when it came time for Solomon to begin the work all the decisions and plans had been made. All he had to do was follow them.

God spoke to my heart and told me that’s what He had done for me. He had gathered resources and connected me to all the right people before I even knew I’d need them. He had went ahead of me and made a way. He had drawn up the plans. He had a specific order for me to follow. And I could hear His still small voice whispering, “I can do bigger than what you had planned on your own.”

The details of the temple Solomon built were beyond anything I’ve ever seen. The place was laced with gold- like everywhere. To just say the words, “It was big and beautiful,” would not have done the place justice. The ellaborate three chapter desctiption was necessary to fully comprehend the magnificence of this place. God’s plan for building was far greater than any man’s.

He’s done the same for you. He’s gone ahead. He’s made a way. He’s got a plan. It’s beautiful, it’s grand. It’s full of grace. It’s beyond any blueprint you could have drawn up yourself. It’s bigger than you could have dreamed.

I smiled knowing God just told me the future I was asking for guidance about was “laced with grace and gold.” All I had to do was follow where He led me and trust Him to take me where I needed to be.

God has a blueprint for you too. I encourage you to draw near to Him and find out what it is. Because it’s laced with grace and gold.

Be Blessed!
