“I still remember the days I prayed for the things I have now.”
I prayed long and hard- fervently even, for my Man of God. I studied what the Bible had to say about relationships, about waiting for your spouse, about how to find them in the first place. In fact, it was almost always the center of all my devotional time with God. I dedicated time to focusing in on God’s voice and His will for my one day husband. And good news, He was so faithful. Those prayers and tears were heard and seen and He gave me more than my heart could have ever asked for.
Then we needed a house. I wanted favor in finding a house like Proverbs 3:4 talks about. I wanted a great deal, a blessing, a “more than enough” kind of home to plant roots with my long sought after soulmate. We prayed about it, we tithed and gave offerings in order to plant seed for a financial harvest. We did what the Word said and good news, He was so faithful. My efforts were recognized and we were abundantly blessed with our charming first time home. A place to raise a beautiful family and live comfortably financially.
Then we were ready for a family. We wanted a sweet bundle of joy. And so we prayed, we sought after God in the situation. We dove into what the Word said about children and how to raise them in a godly home. We dedicated our hearts to God’s will in the manner once again and good news, He was so faithful. We have a pure, happy, bouncy baby girl.
Then she had some health issues at three weeks old. It was the worst time in my whole life. She was in critical condition and my mama heart was shattering. But I remembered all those times that I sought after God and He was so faithful. So I did what I’d come to always do- I prayed. I came to the Word and I once again made my request known unto God. And WONDERFUL news, He was SO amazingly faithful. She’s perfect. She made it. She’s growing like a weed. She’s bright, she’s healthy.
I’ve said all this to say, this past thanksgiving I was sitting in my beautiful home with my incredible husband and my healthy baby girl and I realized that I was living my everyday normal life with all the things that I once felt were so far away. The impossible and bold prayers I was praying had become my reality. The faith that was so necessary to pull on Heaven and request these blessings was now enjoying God’s responses.
“I still remember the days I prayed for the things I have now.” Now I want you to sit back and think about all the times you called out to God for what felt impossible and there you sit, living your day to day life with it. Look back on His faithfulness. Be thankful all over again. Don’t take your current situation for granted.
With the same fervency that we called on God in need, recognize God with gratitude.

Let’s be thankful, still.
Psalm 34:1(NIV), “I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.”
Be Blessed!

A great point, we can always be searching if we choose to do so. Or we can celebrate the miracles happening along the way 🥰.

When the economy tanked in 2008-09 & everyone around us was losing their homes, God saved our home & brought a family through the financial crisis intact.

Such a beautiful Word. Sometimes we can get so focused on what seems not to be happening we forget just how faithful God has been to us!❤️

Loved this. Just as we have earnestly prayed we should also gracefully give back all the thanks to Him.
