It’s Time To Outgrow This

“I’m transforming you…from insect to iron.”

Are you angry you’re still here- stuck in whatever struggle you’re facing right now? Are you frustrated that it’s not over yet, and you have no idea how much longer this struggle is going to last? Because I get like that. I hate to admit, but I get angry and frustrated at conflict fairly quickly. I get angry at the effort that feels like it’s not changing anything. I get frustrated at the uncomfortable season or setting and fight the urge to run to whatever looks like the easiest and quickest way out.

That is, until God spoke to me in response to me hashing out my frustrations and He said, “It’s time to outgrow this.” This impatience in struggle, this lack of resilience in opposition, but most importantly, this fear that God has looked away. All that. It’s time to move past it. It’s time to conquer this.

In Isaiah 41 God speaks to Jacob and says, “I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you. Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you…Do you feel like a lowly worm, Jacob? Don’t be afraid. Feel like a fragile insect, Israel?…I’m transforming you from worm to harrow, from insect to iron.” Those words sink deep into me every time I read them because they describe everything I feel every time opposition strikes.

God knows you feel fragile in your current situation. But if you’ll do what He says and not panic, don’t fear, let Him work in you in the midst of the chaos, He promises you’ll come out of this iron even though you went into this as insect. God told me if I wanted to stop being trampled by every trial that came along then I needed to stop running from it but instead, stand, firmly held by God, and outgrow it.

Decide today to not let your current opposition chase you away only to leave you breathless and beaten. Decide today to stand firm in God’s promise to hold you tightly and face the thing that has taunted you for too long. Decide today that even if it’s hard, you’re going to grow here, not groan here. Because today is the day, it’s time to outgrow this.

Be Blessed!

Keep writing. Keep growing in the Lord. And thank you for posts that remind, encourage and keep my eyes where they need to be; on JESUS, not circumstances. Rock on, sister! Praying for you.
